Recently a mate said that I seemed angry while I was preaching. A lot does make me angry but I also know how shallow I am. Angry and Shallow sums me up in a lot of ways. So as an angry and shallow man I will be making weekly (or maybe more often) comments on things I think we need to face and that I want to say. I also want to hear what you think about them.

I've discovered Limewire. The result is that I'm trying to get my personal top 20 songs of all time. Its actually not that easy. The list will be eclectic and I'm sure will be the songs of heaven. The confirmed include:

"Cortiz the Killer" by Neil Young,
"Eruption" by Van Halen (yes I know its an instrumental than a song but its my list so its ok),
"Why don't you look into Jesus" by Larry Norman (probably the only christian song)
"Phantom of the Opera" by Iron Maiden
"Oh Darling" by the Beatles
Something by Roy Buchanan...still deciding.

Anyway..........any suggestions welcome...........as long as you don't get upset if I don't agree!

    War Pigs- Black Sabbath

    Back in Black-AC/DC

And of course: Immigrant Song-Led Zep.

All of which are heard on a daily basis in Wainui.

Ohh goodie one of my favourite subjects

Well Karl has actually stolen 3 of my picks - but I would also go for

    Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton

(because it is a romantic song about a couple who go to a party, the guy gets drunk and still thinks HIS WIFE is the most beautiful woman at the party -who doesn't want that!)

    Brick House-Commodores (Ohh she's a brick....house)

    Beside You - Dave Dobbyn

    Living for the City-Stevie Wonder

(living just enough...just enough for the cityyyy)

Lucky Guy - Ricki Lee Jones

  3. Blogger the ROCK says Says:

What's Goin' On - Marvin Gaye
End of the Road - Boyz 2 Men
    Superstitious/Master Blaster - Stevie Wonder

the list could go on and on... but then it wouldn't be a Top 20 list...hehehe...

BTW, I use to use Limewire, now I use Frostwire.. apparently it's better...

  4. Blogger Angry and Shallow Says:

Karl...you're a good Wainui boy but Iron Maiden Phantom will be my first choice. I will probably add some George ThoroughGood.

Deb...I like your style and Clapton would have to be there but probably with "Let it Grow" and if a Dobbyn number was there it would be Welcome Home...the song a lot of NZers need to adopt.

The Rock...Stevie Wonder maybe but NEVER Boys to men...aaaagh I dont even like typing their handle!

    I'll check out Frostwire.

BTW I added "Black Betty" by Spiderwire today.

Darryl... I won't talk about the legality of music downloads. But while you're doing it I'd add:

Watch what you're doing - Larry Norman
    Comfortably numb - Pink Floyd
Don't eat the yellow snow - Frank Zappa
    Chameleon - Herbie Hancock
    Black magic woman - Santana

Ummm I think you once told me that your favourite song was spice up your life by the spice girls!

Hi Daryl Say Hi to your beautiful wife for me from Jemma

C'mon D... ease up on Boys 2 Men... both as a group and individually, their vocal abilities are second-to-none... they were actually my first inspiration to to take singing seriously...

And Stevie... the guy is a musical legend, an industry pioneer - in basic terms, DA MAN!

Oh.... don't forget about the funk brothers.... now that's music!

  8. Blogger Angry and Shallow Says:

Boys to men don't make my list mate....in fact no such bands do...but then music is personal. I have added 'Spirit in the sky' by Norman Greenbaum, 'Baby I've been watching you' by Max Merrit and the Meteors and I'm looking at some Bachman Turner Overdrive.

Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin
